Robyn Marsden

Robyn Marsden

Robyn began her dance training at Tokari School of Dance in Kendal, Cumbria where she studied ballet, tap, jazz and musical theatre, participating in numerous performances and competitions. To further her professional training she moved to London to study Dance Performance at Middlesex University, graduating with a First Class BA Honours Degree in 2009. In addition she achieved her PGCE at the Royal Academy of Dance in 2010.

Robyn has been an original company dancer for Shaded Voice Dance Company since its birth in 2009, performing in many venues in London and platforms across the UK including Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Bakewell Arts Festival.

During her studies and contemporary dance training, Robyn became involved in competitive cheerleading. She continues to compete with Sapphire Elite Allstars, and has won a number of regional and national championships with the squad. In addition, Robyn runs and teaches BTEC Level 3 Dance at Epping Forest College.
Isabella Efstathiou

Isabella Efstathiou

Isabella graduated from Middlesex University with a First Class BA Honours Degree in Dance Studies in 2013. She trained extensively in Release, Cohan and Cunningham techniques, and improvisation. Isabella performed the lead role of Mary in Stabat Mater at artsdepot in 2013, working under the close direction of Robert Cohan. She also features in Robert Cohan’s new master class video. Alongside her professional training, Isabella worked with choreographer Scarlett Perdereau and Changing Spaces Dance Theatre.

Isabella joined Shaded Voice Dance Company in 2013. In addition to her performance work for SVDC, she works with Dark Island Dance, an experimental theatre company. Her professional performance credits include Boomtown and Secret Garden Party festivals, Blueprint 2013, Hackney Homes Community Day, and At Home with the Ludskis at Rio Cinema as part of London Film Fest 2012.
Lucy Hough

Lucy Hough

Lucy embarked on her professional dance training in 2008, commencing her study at Middlesex University, graduating in 2011 with a First Class BA Honours Degree in Dance Performance. Immediately upon graduating Lucy worked with Kindredance, performing in Dark Spaces at StifDans, and she also completed a professional development programme with Tempered Body Dance Company. Lucy joined avoiDance in 2010 engaging with workshops, projects and performances in London and across the UK, particular highlights including Edinburgh Festival Fringe, 2012.

In addition to her work as a contemporary dance artist for numerous London-based companies, including Shaded Voice Dance Company, Lucy currently works as a franchisee for Diddi Dance, providing pre-school dance classes across North London.
Nikki Italiano

Nikki Italiano

Nikki originally trained in gymnastics, competing at a national level before making a natural transition into dance. She followed her passion by completing her professional training at Middlesex University, graduating in 2009 with a First Class BA Honours Degree in Dance Performance.

Since graduating Nikki has been working as a contemporary dancer with Delve Dance Company and Shaded Voice Dance Company, performing in London including ‘Resolutions 2011’. She continues to look out for creative performing projects to take part in with contemporary dance companies.

She also works as a freelance dance teacher in Northamptonshire with her own contemporary dance classes, delivering workshops in local colleges/ schools and working with youth dance groups in contemporary technique and choreography.
Julie McNamee

Julie McNamee

Since graduating from Middlesex University with a First Class BA Honours Degree in Dance Performance in 2009, Julie has performed with various companies at venues in London and across the UK including The Place, The Cochrane Theatre, The Cockpit Theatre, Midlands Arts Centre, Brick Lane Music Hall, Millfield Theatre, Islington Assembly Hall and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Most notable companies she has performed for include Rhiannon Faith Dancing Theatre, Changing Spaces Theatre, Mavin Khoo Dance and Rachel Le Moeligou. In addition she has been in various music videos and involved in Arts Council supported work.

Julie has been an original company dancer for Shaded Voice Dance Company since its birth in 2009, and received a special mention by press in the company’s second UK tour for her ‘surefooted expressiveness’ throughout performances.

Julie had the privilege of teaching contemporary dance technique at Middlesex University and continues to teach a diverse range of dance classes across the UK. She is also part of an all singing/dancing vintage girl act ‘My Favourite Things’ who perform all around London.

Alex Aristidou

Alex Aristidou

Alex pursued her professional dance training by studying at Middlesex University, graduating with a First Class BA Honours in Dance Performance in 2011. Whilst studying she joined Shaded Voice Dance Company for their second UK tour, which included performances at Bakewell Arts Festival and Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and was recognized by press for ‘her particular poise and assuredness’ on stage.

Since graduating Alex has also been a company dancer for avoiDance, performing at an eclectic range of venues in London and across the UK. Alongside this she is involved with competitive cheerleading, and has won numerous regional and national championships with Sapphire Elite Allstars squad.

Alex achieved her PGCE in 2012 and is currently a dance teacher at Parliament Hill School, in addition to her performance work within the contemporary dance field in London.
